With this Sri Lanka short 2 day tour package we will visit Pinnawala, Sigiriya, Dambulla and Kandy. Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, is an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants located at Pinnawala village. Sigiriya literally means “lion’s rock” and is of volcanic origin. In the 5th century a royal palace arose on top of the steep mountain and the remains can only be reached by a long staircase. In total you have to climb 1200 steps to get to the top of the 200 meter mountain. Dambulla is best known for the Golden Temple. The rock temples of Dambulla have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991 and are the largest, best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Kandy is located in a valley and in the middle of the center you will find a large lake with a small island in the middle. The city has a number of nice sights.
Day 01
We pick you up from your hotel or Airport and we proceed to Pinnawala. En route we will stop and visit a Pineapple garden. After we visit the Pineapple garden we proceed to Pinnawala. In Pinnawala we will visit the Elephant Orphanage, we will see how all the Elephants proceed to the river where they take a bath. After our visit at the Elephant Orphanage we proceed to Sigiriya. In Sigiriya we will climb the famous Sigiriya Rock. After we are back from the top you can decide to take a ride on an Elephant. After this visit we proceed to the hotel
Day 02
After breakfast we proceed to Dambulla. In Dambulla we will sightseeing the city and we will visit one of the biggest vegetables market in Sri Lanka. After sightseeing we proceed and visit the Dambulla Caves and the golden Buddha statue. After our visit at Dambulla we proceed to Matale. Matale is the center of spice cultivation, you can see the spices drying on the street. In Matale we will visit the Sri Muthumariamman Temple. After we visit Matale we proceed to Kandy. In Kandy we sightseeing the city and we will visit the Kandy view point, Batick and Silk factory, Kandy market, Kandy lake and the Temple of the Tooth. After our visit at Kandy we proceed and visit the Royal Botanical garden in Peradeniya. After our visit at the botanical garden we proceed back to the Airport / Hotel.
