With this Sri Lanka short 3 day tour package we will visit Sigiriya, Minneriya, Polonnaruwa, Dambulla, Matale and Kandy. Sigiriya literally means “lion’s rock” and is of volcanic origin. Minneriya National Park is also known as ‘The Gathering’. In this park you will find the largest gathering of Asian elephants in the world. Polonnaruwa is one of the ancient royal cities of Sri Lanka. In Polonnaruwa you can see many temples, ruins and other places of interest. Dambulla is best known for the Golden Temple. The rock temples of Dambulla have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991 and are the largest, best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Kandy is located in a valley and in the middle of the center you will find a large lake with a small island in the middle. The city has a number of nice sights.
Day 01
We pick you up from your hotel or Airport and we proceed to Sigiriya. In Sigiriya we will climb the famous Sigiriya Rock. After we are back from the top you can decide to take a ride on an Elephant. After our visit at Sigiriya we proceed to Minneriya. At the Minneriya National Park we will start the wildlife safari (mainly wild Elpehants) After the wildlife safari in the Minneriya National Park we proceed to the hotel.
Day 02
After breakfast we proceed to Polonnaruwa. In Polonnaruwa we sightseeing the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. We will visit the ruins and temples. The Buddha statues, unique stupas and many special temples which are still in good condition. We will visit Vatadage, Gal Vihara, Audience Hall en Rankot Vihara. After sightseeing the ancient city of Polonnaruwa we proceed to Dambulla. In Dambulla we will sightseeing the city and we will visit one of the biggest vegetables market in Sri Lanka. After sightseeing we proceed and visit the Dambulla Caves and the golden Buddha statue. After our visit at Dambulla we proceed to Matale. In Matale we will visit the Hindu Temple. After our visit at Matale we proceed to Kandy. In Kandy we will visit the Temple of the Tooth and the Kandy dance performance. After the dance performance we proceed back to the Hotel.
Day 03
After breakfast we start sightseeing Kandy, we will visit the Temple of the tooth, batick and silk factory, wood carving factory, Kandy lake and Kandy view point. After sightseeing Kandy we proceed to Peradeniya. In Peradeniya we will visit the Royal Botanical Garden. After our visit to the Royal Botanical Garden we proceed and visit the Giragama tea factory. After enjoying a cup off tea we proceed back to your hotel / Airport.
